How to Build a Cabinet Start to Finish
We build custom cabinets with sturdy ¾” box construction, modern sleek frameless faces and use the highest quality custom engineered materials.
But we still get the question on all the time:
How do you build a cabinet?
At Brothers build our custom cabinets with the most modern and precise manufacturing technology available. And although our process might not seem like traditional cabinet manufacturing, the fundamentals are still largely the same.
Cutting via Computerized CNC Machining
Our CNC Machine takes the raw cabinet wood and cuts to exact measurements, using autoCAD diagrams. Our computerized machining allows us to get amazing precision and as a result, we build to less than 1/32″ of deviation (that’s small!).
Edge Banding for full coverage
Your custom engineered finish will cover the whole exterior of the cabinet and edges are no exception.
Dowel Insertion to join frame
Glue and a Structural Dowel Insertion are added to the frame boards. These dowels line up with the other panels to create our study 3/4″ cabinet box.
Pressure Clamp Joining to glue, pressurize and seal
After our frame is joined, we apply thousands of pounds of pressure to the frame, allowing the dowels and glue to seal – permanently.
QA & Finishing Touches to add hardware and inspect
Final inspection and hardware attachment before shipping. We want to make our cabinets as “field ready” as we can prior to it leaving our plant in Dallas.
Shipping Preparation
Layers of corrugated material and other shipping protective layers ensure your cabinets arrive, safe and ready to install. The rest is up to our installation team.
That’s how we build our cabinets at Brothers and we hope you’ve enjoyed the tour of our plant.
